Definition – Services

We offer complementary medicine services to clients to assist with their health and wellbeing. An initial naturopathic consultation runs for approx. 75 minutes and a follow-up consultation runs for approx. 45 minutes (Services).

General

Our Services are provided based on these Terms and Conditions and any additional terms and conditions which may be communicated to you at the time of booking your consultation (or afterwards). All information, resources, and services provided at the time of consultation (and following said consultations) are for the sole benefit of the client (you) only. You agree not to publish, copy, record, sell or share any aspect or portion of the Services. To be clear, this includes, but is not limited to, any recommendations that we provide to you in any consultations or thereafter.

Your responsibilities

Once you have booked a consultation in respect of our Services, you must:

Complete any intake documentation and provide accurate, honest and complete information in regards to your personal and health information.  This includes, but is not limited to, any prescription and/or non-prescription medications you take, allergies, medical history, complementary medicines you consume, intolerances, pregnancy (breastfeeding or attempting to conceive) and other health/medical information).  You commit to update us in a timely manner in regards to any material changes to your health and/or personal circumstances along the way.

Always be kind, decent and respectful to our practitioners, employees, contractors, agents and (other) clients.

Always comply with any relevant governmental health regulations that are in place at the time you deal with us.

Natural medicine (including but not limited to herbal remedies, dietary/nutritional supplements, dietary advice) are not without risk and should be used only as recommended.

Notify us immediately if your symptoms worsen and/or you experience adverse side-effects while undergoing any of our treatment recommendations and always seek urgent medical attention, if required.

Our responsibilities

I am a qualified naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy awarded by Torrens University Australia and full practicing member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia.  I am entitled to provide naturopathic consultations and treatment recommendations to clients including dispensing practitioner-only complementary medicines (where appropriate).

As part of my professional obligations, I maintain competency via undertaking continuing professional education. I am not, however, a medical practitioner and do not diagnose and/or cure any medical condition, disease or illness (please see our Medical Disclaimer below).

Once you have booked a consultation:

We will forward you an email with the agreed booking time and cost and, if relevant, a link for the online consultation platform (Confirmation Email)

We will be on time and ready for the consultation (or will endeavour to notify you in advance of the consultation time should there be any delay). If the consultation time must be rescheduled for any reason, we will notify you as soon as possible to organize an alternate and mutually convenient time (at no additional cost).

Payment, Fee, Cancellation

As indicated above, at the time of booking a consultation with us, we will provide you with our fee for the proposed Services and request that you confirm you will pay our fee.

Cancellation and rescheduling of consultation

The Community Naturopath operates on the premise of mutual respect for time and finances and by booking online, you agree to upholding mutual respect in the following manner. Absent of unavoidable illness or emergency, we require a minimum 36-hours’ notice in respect of cancellation and rescheduling of a consultation or you will need to pay 50% of the standard fee for the proposed Services. These terms are established to protect our income and longevity of practise, for you and future clients.

If you cancel two appointments in a 6 month period (other than for unavoidable illness or emergency) within the 36 hours window outlined above, we reserve the right to charge 100% of the relevant fee for the Services. In the event of frequent cancellation and rescheduling, within the 36 hours window outlined above, we reserve the right to deny any future request for a consultation at any time, based on your failure to attend and/or pay for previous consultations and/or missed consultations.

Refunds

We do not offer refunds for completed consultations because you change your mind. If you want to return purchased products (purchased through a third party), you will need to contact the third party directly.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in our Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy restricts your ability to make a claim which may be available to you for any failure to comply with a guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).  We encourage you to learn more about your rights and the consumer guarantees in respect of the ACL on the ACCC website:

https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees/consumer-guarantees

Consultation Fee (and related matters)

The fee payable for Services will be the fee in effect at the time your consultation booking is made and will be set out in the Confirmation Email.

Our fees are in Australian Dollars, unless otherwise specified.

If you are located outside of Australia, any and all government fees, duties, bank fees/charges and/or other third party costs (including third party processor costs) which are imposed on your payment and/or for the provision of the Services are your sole responsibility.

Product recommendations

We do not directly stock complementary medicines in our clinic.  However, from time to time we may prescribe or recommend certain complementary medicines (herbs, nutritional/dietary supplements) to you as part of our treatment recommendations.  If so, we will recommend one or more reputable and verified third party product providers/suppliers to assist you to directly source some or all of the relevant complementary medicines.
